“ I’m over 50 and I’m in the best shape of my life . . but it isn’t always easy to keep on track. Sure I have days when I’m full of energy, I’m proud of my choices and both my mental and physical health feels not only pretty stable but strong and powerful too.
But I also have my fair share of wobbles. Sometimes life challenges us in unexpected ways and it’s how we show up for ourselves in those moments, on those days, that is the secret sauce. Commitment and consistency are everything when it comes to both mental and physical health. Having an open mind to learning new skill sets, new habits and challenging our perceptions of given facts, these are the things that drive and excite me.
Established habits are built with frequency not time, so if you’re heading to midlife or retirement and are worrying you’ve left it too late to get in shape mentally and physically, you haven’t! Time isn’t as important as frequency. Repeated behaviour reinforces our identity, so we’ll dive into the way you not only treat yourself but describe yourself too. In my experience, feeling motivated gets you to act in the first place, but it’s feeling successful and fulfilled that makes you want to repeat your actions. I’m here to keep you accountable to your own intrinsic goals of who you want to be.
